Honors Projects for Spring 2012 - Current geologic events summary

To fulfill the terms of your honor’s contract you must submit 10 current event summaries by (April 20th).  You can turn in up to two summaries each week.  These will be submitted to your lab instructor during your regularly scheduled lab time.

Each summary will contain the following and can be typed or hand written.

1. Your Name
2. Summary number (1- 10)
3. The Source.  Where did you get your information? 

Newspaper – reference name and date of paper*
Website – reference Internet address and date*
Magazine – reference name and date*
Television – reference show and date*

4. Write a 250** word summary of the geologically- related news story.  You should explain the event, what caused the event, and the reaction to this event. 

5. There will be no grade assigned to this project.  You will receive honors credit if you complete all ten summaries in the described manner and they are accepted by me. 

*Citation need not be formal.

** I am not going to count words and you shouldn’t either.  Give me a good paragraph or two.
