Excel Templates
Several of the homework problems in Chapters 4 through 7, along with the comprehensive consolidation problem, require creation of a consolidation work paper. The eliminating entries are posted to the workpaper, the accounts are adjusted for the effects of the eliminating entries, and the adjusted account balances are the basis for preparation of the consoldiated financial statements.
The purpose of these Excel templates is to eliminate the mechanical aspect of preparing a consolidation worksheet so that you can concentrate on the consolidation process and the eliminating entries. After you have written the eliminating entries for each problem, you can post them to the Excel work paper. The account balances will be updated for the effects of the eliminating entries.
Several homework problems in Chapters 12 and 16 also use worksheets to organize the problem data and present the solutions. Partially completed worksheets for these problems are also available on the textbook web-site.
