major purpose of this brief manuscript is to recommend a set of guidelines =
for
the preparation of written assignments.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nb=

</span>There is no universally accepted method for preparing manuscripts for
submission to instructors, and students often find this to be a major sourc=
e of
frustration.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>The following ar=
e the
guidelines I prefer for students to use in my classes.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Nothing is magical about these
guidelines, and students should not use these guidelines in another class
without first consulting their instructor.</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><span style=3D'mso-tab-count:1'>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbs=
p;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </span>A
minor, but perhaps more important, purpose is to acquaint students with a
methodology for professionally preparing reports.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Many recruiters point to the lack =
of
communication skills as a major shortcoming of many students.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Perhaps this manuscript can help
students to enhance their capabilities in this important area.</p>

proper method to use in referencing sources is presented.</p>

should be prepared with one inch borders surrounding the text, i.e. one inc=

should be 8 1/2&quot; x 11&quot; except for large visual aids that are fold=
ed

of the most common weaknesses in student presentation of the narrative is t=

should be presented in a fashion such that an individual looking for a spec=

the clarity and comprehension of the text.</p>
