Most students consider my courses to generally be more challenging than most. I don't apologize for this fact. The following 45-minute video articulates the argument for why students should expect a lot from ISU, their professors, and themselves. The short story is that most US students are increasingly finding it difficult to compete in the emerging global economy. My argument is that this is not because everyone else in the world is getting smarter, rather, it is because we have allowed our shared expectations as a society in the US to attenuate. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments related to these expectations.
