Position Title: Transportation Planner, Level 1
Salary: $32,900 (B.S./B.A.) $38,900 (M.S./M.A.)
Responsibilities: Conduct short- and long-range planning of mass transit (fixed route and paratransit) for local governments and agencies on a contract arrangement. Conduct special studies dealing with transportation/transit issues (e.g., senior citizen needs).
Requirements: Desire a degree in Planning or Geography and good analytical, oral, and written skills. Experience with Esri products is a must. Please have a portfolio containing at least two recent (clean) samples of writing when reporting for the initial interview. Evidence of ability to speak in public and an internship in planning or related area highly desirable. Computer modeling will be a plus but is not necessary for entry-level hires.
Other: TPC operates from a remodeled mansion in the state capital and opens branch field offices as needed where projects are occurring. Transportation Planner, Level 1, involves being away from the main office at least 25 percent of the time. Excellent cultural benefits nearby. City has minor league baseball and hockey franchises.
