Position Title: Planner I
Salary: $36,950 (M.S./M.A.) $32,800 (B.S./B.A.)
Responsibilities: Established regional planning agency seeks entry-level planner to assist and eventually to take the lead with ongoing water quality management, solid waste management, economic development planning programs. Position involves grant writing, grant administration, and hands-on problem solving.
Requirements: Degree in Planning, Geography, Community Development, or related field. Master's preferred but will consider solid person with a B.S./B.A. Quality internship in planning highly desirable. Bring portfolio of planning-related materials, including clean writing sample, to initial interview.
Other: Commission has been a trend setter in many aspects of regional planning. Several former employees now manage similar agencies around the country. Recent cutbacks in local funding programs have forced the Commission to depend more on successful grant activity. Progressive County enjoys a fine climate and is close to numerous recreational/cultural amenities. Both public and private schools are available for employees with children in grades K-12. A nearby university offers advanced degrees in appropriate fields, and agency will help with tuition and fees once employee has been on board at least one full year.
