Firm: Worldwide Casualty Corporation

Position Title: Natural Hazards Analyst

Salary: Negotiable, but at least $36,000 per year

Responsibilities: Map and analyze property and personal casualty data as they relate to various natural hazards (hurricanes, earthquakes, mudslides, brush fires, hailstorms, glaze events, etc.).  Use statistical and mapping software (we will train as needed) to prepare reports.  Develop and maintain knowledge of specific data bases relevant to natural hazards.  Serve eventually as project leader.

Requirements: B.S./B.A in any appropriate field, but Geography is preferable.  Travel to hazard sites in the country and worldwide via commercial or corporate transportation.  Excellent communication skills are necessary for success in this position. Bring clean writing sample to first interview.  Internship or other experience in a related activity highly desirable.  Ability to work with little supervision a must.

Other: Worldwide will train the otherwise qualified candidate on the preferred software.  Analyst will spend half her or his time at firm headquarters and half in the field.  Competitive benefits but no paid vacation during the first twelve months of employment.  Worldwide encourages women and people of color to apply.   After the first year, analysts become eligible to use the company condos in the Cayman Islands for up to two weeks each year--at a cost of 40 dollars per day.
