Position Title: 7th Grade Geography Teacher
Salary (nine month contract): $36,900 (B.A/B.S.) $38,900 (M.A./M.S.)
Responsibilities: Teach Geography and related subjects at Red Bluff Junior High School. Assist with middle school environmental education week each fall at the district's outdoor training center in nearby nature preserve. Take on coaching and other extracurricular duties as appropriate (with additional compensation).
Requirements: B.S. (with valid teaching certificate) in Geography Education or related discipline. Successful candidate must be field oriented. Strengths in Ecology, Geology, or other field sciences applicable. Internship useful in providing real-world experience. Ability to help students become better observers of nature and better writers important. GIS/GPS skills are a plus. Bring clean sample of a lesson plan to the first interview.
Other: Red Bluff schools serve a diversified clientele, which includes students from soldier families at nearby Fort Patton. The school has newly renovated labs for Geography classes and a library second to none among comparable institutions. Coaching opportunities exist for boys' and girls' teams in a variety of sports. Other extracurricular sponsorships become available from time to time.
