Web Design Process

For Organizations

CAS-IT: TAP provides project management, training, and support for organizations including the College of Arts & Sciences, College of Business, and other clients on campus.

Websites have grown from a collection of a few simple pages providing information about an organization to a full-blown marketing and intranet feature set. In fact, research has shown that the majority of students select their major by browsing the program and school website. Because of this an effective website is now paramount to the mission of an organization.

It is no longer the case that one person can support an entire website as an additional part of their job. Instead, we recommend
a team to manage both the creation and the support of a client's website. Personnel have to be selected that have both the skill set and the time to maintain and enhance the client's website.

To begin the process, read through the different stages and components such as the web team roles , general organizational site goals, basic features of most sites, Optional Features, and some sample navigation options. Contact the CAS-IT: TAP Director to set up a planning and training appointment.
