Seminar Course Goals
- To
reflect formally on what you have accomplished as an English
major, and to assess those accomplishments
- To
project into the future how those accomplishments connect to
your personal and professional life beyond ISU
- To
make and assess connections among the various subdisciplines of
English Studies (broadly: rhetoric, literature, and linguistics,
but also including pedagogy)
- To
reflect formally on the various ways people use language to
invest their world with meaning, organize knowledge, and
manipulate power.
- To
learn to read and think theoretically about texts and
experiences
- To
expand our writing experiences through self-critique and
revising old projects and/or exploring new ones
