Boxplots:

New Boxplot Feature: Table 3.28 Boxplots

Jon Peltier has revised his Excel boxplot add-in so that it now displays outliers as individual points (extreme points outside 3 times the range of the middle quartiles).  Below, we see the District of Columbia displayed as an outlier.  Click here to obtain the add in (which works in both Excel 2003 and 2007).

Figure 3.28 also illustrates using boxplots to compare a single case to a larger group of cases.

To paste the additional range (here, Nevada) over the boxplot chart, select the data range (including the label) and choose Paste | Paste Special
