IF-CLAUSES:
WRITING EXERCISE

A.  Write sentences that make sense using the indicated tenses.  Watch out for inversion.  Use a different sentence in each blank.

Example:
Conditional tense, "if" + pluperfect.
Nous serions ravis maintenant, si tu nous avais donné une million de dollars.

1. "If" + present tense, future tense.

2. Present tense, "if" + present tense

B.  Follow the instructions.

8. Write a sentence with an if-clause saying what would have happened in the past if a certain past situation had been different.

9. Write a sentence with an if-clause saying what would happen in the future if a hypothetical (but doubtful) situation were true.

10. Write a sentence with an if-clause saying what would be true now if a certain past situation had been different.
