Conjunctions followed by the Subjunctive or the Indicative
or
Prepositions followed by the Inifinitive
Some conjunctions that express doubt, etc. and are followed by the subjunctive are:
avant que,
pour que,
bien que,
malgré que,
sans que,
jusqu'à ce que.
Some conjunctions that express certainty, etc. and are followed by the indicative are:
après que,
à mesure que,
pendant que,
tandis que,
tant que,
dès que.
Some conjunctions are replaced by prepositions when the subject would be the same in both
clauses.
They are then followed by an infinitive:
"pour,"
"sans,"
"avant de"
"à moins de" + infinitive,
but "après" + past infinitive.
