EXAMS
The Mid-Term and Final Exams will test your ability:
1. to identify the different parts of an argument (see the chapter subjects in Asking
the Right Questions);
2. to evaluate one's own arguments and the arguments of others by means of critical
thinking;
3. to construct good arguments;
4. to experiment with alternative arguments;
5. to recognize the values that influence arguments;
6. to focus in on the issues raised by arguments.
In order to prepare for the exams, you will need to review Asking the Right Questions, practice making arguments, review and rethink your completed Critical Thinking Guides and your class notes.
The Final Exam will cover the class material from the entire semester, but will emphasize the material from the second half of the semester.
