Suggestions for going to the Université Laval

 1.  You will have to buy or cook your own meals.  There are wonderful kitchens in the dorms with ovens, microwave ovens, utensiles, glasses, plates and more.  But there are no pots and pans.  You might want to take with you (or buy there) a small frying pan and a pot.   Only a few restaurants are open in the Student Center during the summer, so find out about nearby inexpensive restaurants.  Just ask the "animateurs" at the Ecole des Langues Vivantes.

2.  Get a bus pass as soon as you arrive.  You will use the bus a lot to go to Vieux Québec and to restaurants on the Grande Allée.  If you look at the map below, the Chemin St. Louis is an extension of the Boulevard Laurier (to the southwest) which goes right by the campus.  The Grande Allée goes right into the center of Vieux Québec where it becomes the Rue St. Louis.  You will also fin on the Grande Allée "amazing" dance clubs and cafés.

3.  When you are assigned to a class level, you may find that it is too easy for you.  Definitely talk to your teacher so that they can place you in a higher level, otherwise you will learn much less than you can.
