Le Vieux Québec

Québec is the only walled city in North America

The oldest parts of the city date from the 1700s.

More Restaurants!

They are everywhere, French cooking, Quebecois cooking, and much more.

They're also great for a croissant and coffee for breakfast or for lunch.

By the way, in Québec, breakfast is "le déjeuner," lunch is "le dîner," and dinner is "le souper."

The "Terrasse"  extends from the Château Frontenac, upper left, to the Citadel, a fort protecting the town.

Through the grilled fence on the Terrasse you can look down on the St. Laurence River, the port, and tour boats.

The Terrasse has wonderful book stalls.

During the summer, musicians, jugglers, magicians, and more perform on the Terrasse.

You will also find shops and stalls that sell the work of local artists.
