Habitat News:August, 2010 Habitat Campus Chapter of the Year Award Illinois Wesleyan and Illinois
State Universities’ joint student chapter of Habitat for Humanity has been
selected for the 2010 Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter of the Year award. ISU/IWU Habitat for Humanity the groundbreaking for the 17th annual Collegiate home to be built with the Susan Giermann family on 404 East Douglas St. in Bloomington. Festivities start at noon. All are invited. January 20th, 2010- Clinker Classic donates $750! ISU Habitat is excited to announce that participants of the Clinker Classic Annual Golf Tournament donated the generous amount of $750 to our organization. This is the second year that members of the golf tournament have donated and we are happy and very thankful to have their support! December 3, Affordable Green Housing Forum Public Forum 7pm Thursday, December 3, 2009 October 31, 2009 Sixth Annual Trick or Treat for Change raises over $16,000! ISU/IWU Habitat for Humanity is very proud to announce that the official total for 2009 Trick or Treat for Change is $16,143.78!!! Thank you so much to all of our fabulous student volunteers who went trick-or-treating, to the Bloomington-Normal community for their amazing and generous support and a special thanks to the ISU Leadership and Service Unit.

2009 ISU/IWU Habitat Receives Grant from Bike & Build, Inc.
We are excited to
announce that we have received a generous grant of over $7,300 from Bike &
Build, Inc.! Thank you so much to Bike & Build, Inc. for their continued support
of ISU/IWU Habitat for Humanity! August 29, 2009 ISU\IWU Habitat to build 2 homes Groundbreaking for the 15th and 16th ISU\IWU Collegiate homes will take place at noon on August 29th near the corner of Lumber and W. Grove Street in Bloomington (see map). These will be the first LEED-certified homes in McLean County. April 18, 2009 - Montgomery Home House Blessing On Saturday April 18th, the 14th ISU\IWU Collegiate Home Houseblessing was held at 415 W. Vernon Street -- the site of the Amanda Montgomery family's new home. Planning is now underway for the 15th and 16th homes, which will be the first LEED-certified homes in McLean County. October 11, 2008 - New Record! The ISU and IWU volunteers set a new record for
finishing the roof, one month earlier than any of the previous homes. (see

April 19, 2008 Houseblessing!! The official houseblessing of Kurt and
Sarina Peavler's new home, the 13th consecutive student-built
ISU-IWU Habitat for Humanity home took place on Saturday.

With the receipt of a $10,000 award from State Farm Insurance, the
two chapters reach their goal of raising %50,000 for the home. .
