Lab 8: Formatting a Scatterplot

Download these data and
construct a scatterplot that looks like this:

- To do the scatterplot, you need two variables, one
independent and one dependent.
- Highlight the columns of two variables (the dependent is
always on the right)
- From the menu: Insert | scatterplot
- to do the trendline: click on the chart and select:
Layout | Analysis | Trendline -- linear
To add labels to your chart:
- save and close all excel files
- right click and download
this charttools file to your
desktop
- go to your desktop and open the charttools file.
- then open your original Excel file
- Click on the chart
- from the Menu, select "Add-ins" and the charttools
add-in.
- With the charttools add-in enter the range of the data
labels.
- format the data series so that there are no markers
- format the data labels so that they are centered.
Construct the scatterplot, upload the Excel file to
Webboard.
