Homework 6: Scatterplot

 

Assignment: Duplicate the chart, below.

  • Instructions:
  • Use these data.
  • Construct the chart, use the J-Walk chart tools to add the country labels.

Instructions: to create a scatterplot:

  • Select two columns of data with the X-axis variable (the independent variable) on the left:

  • Then Insert | Scatter | with only markers
  • Click on the legend and delete
  • Right-click on the markers, and choose add trendline
  • Click on the chart, select  Chart Tools | Layout | Axis titles and insert horizontal and vertical axis titles.
  • Format the chart

To add data labels (country codes)  open this file:   or this one
(save the file then open it)

  • Go back to the file with your chart,
  • Click on the chart,
  • Choose Add-ins | J-walk Chart tools | data labels

 

  • Click on the data range box in the chart tools and select the range of cells with the data labels.
  • Click on the markers, Format the data series so that there are no markers.
  • Click on the data labels and format the data labels so that they are centered.
