More than 70 agencies in the United States Federal Government produce statistics of interest to the public. The Federal Interagency Council on Statistical Policy maintains this site to provide easy access to the full range of statistics and information produced by these agencies for public use. FedStats' major features include an "A to Z" index that provides direct access to detailed data listings in 275 categories;  An "Agencies" heading that allows users to link to the Web sites of Federal statistical agencies, or select from a menu of predetermined key words for those agencies;
