1/1/02: Palm Beach County: 2000 Election

 

Discussion:  Palm Beach County's "Butterfly Ballot" allegedly led many potential Gore voters to vote for Patrick Buchanan -- this was just the beginning of many disputes over the 2000 election.

Key Question:  Buchanan's vote total was unusual but for an unusually large county.  Would using percentages instead of raw vote totals show the same results?  (Palm Beach was not the country where Buchanan received the highest percentage of the vote).  See the data here: (excel file)
